FLUX Review 2026
FLUX is a model family from Black Forest Labs. The vendor sells usage with no subscriptions and no seat fees, and it also describes running open weights on your own infrastructure. Its pricing page does not give a dollar figure for every tier, so the cost depends on what you generate. We did not test it.
Profile
This page covers the FLUX models made by Black Forest Labs (bfl.ai). It does not cover other sites that use “FLUX AI” in their names, and this site is not affiliated with Black Forest Labs.
Zapier describes FLUX as developed by Black Forest Labs with a team that came from the original Stable Diffusion group, and says it can be reached through several third-party apps, APIs and self-hosting (F8). The vendor pricing page names FLUX.2 variants in its model selector (H2).
Strengths named in our sources
- Pay as you go: the vendor says there are no subscriptions and no seat fees, and you pay only for what you generate (H1).
- Open-weights deployment: the vendor describes running FLUX models on your own infrastructure (H4).
- Security certifications: the footer lists ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II. This is the vendor’s own statement and we did not check it independently (H5).
Drawbacks named in our sources
- The page lists image volumes for each tier but no dollar price for Builder, Platform or Professional (H3). Anyone budgeting for a tier has to ask the vendor.
- The open-weights offer comes with separate non-commercial and self-hosted license terms (H4). Which license applies depends on the model, so read it before any commercial use.
- We found no independent benchmark on this page that compares FLUX output quality with other models.
Pricing as the sources list it
- Pay as you go. The pricing calculator’s default selection (one image at 768×768) shows $0.048 per image (H2). That is one example, not a full price list.
- Builder: 10,000 images a month, one domain, 10 licensed users. Platform: 100,000 images a month, one domain, 10 licensed users. Professional: 100,000 images a month, up to three domains, 10 licensed users. No dollar price is shown for these tiers (H3).
- Enterprise is custom-priced and sold by contact (H3).
What the vendor says
The vendor page describes the platform as built for product teams and agencies, lists fine-tuning and LoRA rights on its paid tiers, and names a synthetic-data offer with rights to use outputs as training data (bfl.ai/pricing, observed 2026-10-16).
Who it suits
- Developers and product teams who pay for output and want to pick a model for each task.
- Teams that may later self-host open weights, once they have checked the license for the specific model.
- Less suited to someone who wants a flat monthly allowance, since the vendor page is built around usage and volume tiers.
What we did not test
We did not generate images with FLUX or run it on our own hardware. The per-image figure is the vendor calculator’s default example, and the licensing points are a reading of the vendor’s own terms list, not legal advice.
How to run your own trial
Make one small piece of work you would really publish: one image or one short clip, with the subject and style you need. Check the privacy setting and the commercial terms on the plan you would buy before you generate anything for a client. Note how many credits, tokens or GPU minutes the job used, and compare that with the plan’s monthly allowance. Where the sources disagree on price, use the vendor page as the final source.

FAQ
Is FLUX free to use?
The pricing page lists pay-as-you-go billing with no subscriptions (H1) and does not describe a free tier, so this page does not say one exists. The vendor describes deploying open weights on your own infrastructure, under the license terms linked in the footer (H4). Read those terms before you use a model.
How much does one FLUX image cost?
On the vendor calculator’s default selection, one 768×768 image shows $0.048 (H2). Other models, resolutions and counts change the figure, and the page does not give a full table.
Is FLUX the same as other products with “FLUX AI” in the name?
No claim is made here about other sites. This review covers the FLUX models from Black Forest Labs only.
