Leonardo.ai runs on a token system with a free daily allowance and paid monthly tiers from $12. The sources we hold agree on the main prices but disagree on plan names and on what “unlimited” covers. Our checks could not read the vendor pricing page, so the figures on this page come from third-party guides and a partial search snippet. We did not test the product.

A search result for its pricing page carries the line “Create across image, video, design, and motion” (H21). The page itself returned 403 in our checks, so no vendor-side figure is stated beyond that snippet.
Several 2026 guides from eesel, toolist and searchsagar give matching monthly prices for the individual tiers (H19). Their listings are the basis for the figures below.
Strengths named in our sources
- The free tier gives 150 Fast Tokens a day, and the guides say they refresh daily and do not carry over (H19).
- Paid tiers add a rollover bank, so unused monthly tokens can be kept: 25,500 on Essential, 75,000 on Premium and 180,000 on Ultimate, per the guides (H19).
- Some third-party guides say the “unlimited” label applies to Leonardo’s own image models such as Lucid Origin and Phoenix (H22).
Drawbacks named in our sources
- Third-party models use tokens. The same guides say “unlimited” does not extend to premium third-party models, which still cost tokens (H22).
- toolist says everything made on the free plan is public, and that Leonardo keeps broad rights to free-plan images (H23). Those points are a third-party reading of the terms, not a checked statement.
- Plan names differ across 2026 guides. Some still use Apprentice, Artisan and Maestro for tiers that carry the Essential, Premium and Ultimate prices (H24).

Make one small piece of work you would really publish: one image or one short clip, with the subject and style you need. Check the privacy setting and the commercial terms on the plan you would buy before you generate anything for a client.
